The installation is focused on the complex theme of the third chapter of the Genesis, in which Adam and Eve did not obey God, eating the fruit of the tree so they determine their lose of a presumed state of justice for the world (Genesis 3). Federico Cozzucoli chooses to immortalize the moment of their disobedience and the following man's desperation that caused God's indignation. In what does the originality of these works consist? In the great provocative strength through which the artist uses the symbolic and concrete event and at the same time to give an interpretation that we can define mystic, ironic and sarcastic. He stripes of the scene: he does not use the additional features used in the image of original sin (the tree and the snake, that is here evident as a tattoo in the girl's heel bone) and he chooses a "modern" man and woman, they determine theirselves with power of their need to be real, not to be prim but aware of their nutidy/fragility, not to be panicked or desperate, because they caused God's wrath. Moreover, when they hold firmly the apple, the artist wants to focus on their indissoluble bond, a very extraordinary image of power and life. Adam and Eve are expecting a baby. This Adam does not hide his face in his hands in order to show his shame as in the famous Masaccio's work, but here he shouts the inebriation to feel himself "God" because he finally knows everything and can breed mankind. His contracted anatomy reminds us Munch's The Scream because of his shout and his narrow position to the lens.
There are three main artistic purposes in Cozzucoli's installation; that he wants to develop in the same time: first with the use of drawings and Polaroid's pictures, second selecting pictures into two big central compositions, and at the end to each panel corresponds a rectangular brass plate (70x55), this represents the relative piece of the picture. The choice of the material, that gives images a warm metallic light similar to the background of Byzantine paintings, is once more a recollection of holy art, a constant attention of the artist.
